Average.

I know I am slacking at blogging lately....but it's because I feel like there is nothing exciting to blog about.
Before, I could talk about the new decorations I bought, the cake I picked, or the final touches for the big day.
Now, we are just another married couple living blissfully in love.

Not that married life isn't exciting...because I am enjoying every minute of it.
I just don't know if you will enjoy our evenings of cooking pasta, watching America's Got Talent, playing board games, and falling asleep watching "Planet Earth" as exciting as I do.

Here are some of my favorite moments from these first couple weeks living together:

1.) Deciding who will clean what. I am the laundry girl and he is the dish washer. I hate nasty stuck on food and he hates folding. Done.
2.) Decorating our apartment. I actually have a husband who cares about decorating almost as much as I do so it's been fun picking out things and making a home together.
3.)Dinner parties. We happen to live close to our friends Lacy and Quaid, so we have taken turns cooking for each other and just hanging out. The problem is Lacy hates board games so we need some people to come over and play with us!
4.)Playing games. We LOVE games. Especially trivia and word games. The problem is....there are only so many games that are fun with just two people. We get our fill of scrabble, boggle, scene it, family fued, and Are you smarter than a 5th grader. So if you are up for a challenge (we are a tough couple to beat) we will take you on in an epic game night!
5.) Date nights. Just because you are married does not mean that dating is over. We make sure to get out a lot, even if it is just to the dollar movies to see something that came out 3 months ago or to share an ice cream at Braums.
6.) Louging around. I love just being with David. We don't have to be talking, or even in the same room. I just love having him near all the time. It's nice to just sit together and watch T.V. or watch him play video games.
7.) Skivies. For those of you who have ever lived with me, you know how much I love to walk around in my undies. Married life not only allows this, but encourages it. Fantastic.
8.) Shopping and Snacking. Grocery shopping is so much more fun when you are buying food together. We love picking out snacks to eat while we watch countless hours of netflix. My favorite snack of the moment is either Kettle Corn or Target's mango salsa. Yum.
9.) Netflix. For those of us poor newlyweds who refuse to pay more than $20 for cable, Netflix is heaven. Instant movies and T.V. shows, yes please.
10.) Quirks. After you have been with someone for 6 years you think that there isn't much left to learn about them. That is false. I am finding out more and more things about David than I ever have before.

Well I guess that's a little more exciting than I expected...

Dinner Party

We've finally got almost everything cleaned and settled into our apartment so what do we do?..
Throw a dinner party of course!

We invited our also newlywed friends Lacy and Quaid over for dinner and to hang out with us.

It was good motivation to finish getting everything cleaned and put away so they wouldn't judge us when they came over. Although I do think they judged us for all of our empty picture frames awaiting wedding photos...that's ok, at least they are off the floor and on the walls.

Also, we got to use all of our new kitchen stuff, including my new cake plate!

David is the chef in our house (I'm just the baker), so he made Montreal chicken, Pioneer Woman's mashed potatoes (thanks for the cook book Westin!), corn, and biscuits! I contributed to the dinner by making dessert....cake mix cookies! They are seriously the best! You will never eat a regular cookie dough cookie again after you've had these.

Overall, it was fantastic and we all had a great time!

I can check that off my married to-do list.

Here are some pictures of our setup.

And I just decided to take a picture of our bedroom because it was actually clean!

Life as a Wife

What's married life like?

Wonderful, Fantastic, Relaxing, Hectic, Funny, Exciting, New.

In other words....
It's pretty much the greatest ever.

I just get to be with my best friend 24/7. What could be better than that?

We are finally starting to settle into our apartment after the wedding and our INCREDIBLE honeymoon.

Two weeks in Orlando was heaven. We were able to do SO much, yet still relax and enjoy our first two weeks as newlyweds.

Some of the highlights of our trip included:

First night as husband and wife downtown
BLUE MAN GROUP!
Universal Studios
Islands of Adventure
Wet n' Wild
(Some of the best water slides I've ever been on)
Cocoa Beach
PARASAILING!!
It was so peaceful and serene. I would recommend it to anyone.
Magic Kingdom
One of my favorites...CIRQUE DU SOLEIL!
Gourmet meals and 5 star restaurants for free!
Disney Water Parks
We got to snorkel with sharks and rays at Typhoon Lagoon
Epcot
Animal Kingdom
Hollywood Studios
Magic.
Souvenirs!

As you can tell...it was the trip of a lifetime.
I will never forget it.

Now, back to the real world of working, cleaning, and finding places for all the random wedding stuff I worked on for a year...

The week of...

MY WEDDING!!

That's right, I'm getting hitched THIS week! Friday to be exact.

At this point in the game all I can think about is being with my new husband in Florida.
Now is the time when I wonder why the heck we didn't get married by Elvis in Vegas...
it would have been so much easier.
(Don't worry though, I already made David promise we could get our vows renewed in Vegas for an anniversary. It's kind of a dream of mine.)

So yes, although it would have been easier...it definitely would not have been near as fun or as gratifying. Knowing that David and I pretty much made and put together everything ourselves is so fulfilling. I can't wait to hear people's reactions to things and be able to say "Thanks, we MADE that!"

This week is going to be SO hectic, yet so much fun at the same time.

It's already started out great...I had my bachelorette party on Sat. (that needs a whole post to itself...let's just say it involved pole dancing, boas, chairs, and very sore bodies the day after), David and I handmade about 80 of the programs, finished the bouquets/boutineers, and started packing for our well needed and deserved honeymoon.

We are so close.
I will be a Bowden by the end of the week...
and I couldn't be more ready:)

Explosion

Our wedding is two weeks from today and it looks like my apartment has exploded hobby lobby bags everywhere!

My apartment is wedding chaos, but it's quite fun. I started filling up jars for the candy buffet, picked up my wedding dress, and bought all of the last minute decorations.

I am checking things off my to-do list left and right! All I have left to do is:

-Make the bouquets/boutineers
-Pick all of the music
-Make a slide show
-Buy all the food
-Make day-of itineraries
-Pack for the honeymoon
- Write my vows
and
-Figure out the programs

I can do that all in two weeks...right? Oh geez.

This is on my living room floor.
